Orrin Dam charity run
STUNNED - I think is the only way I can describe what I felt as I pulled into the car park in Beauly. The turn out was overwhelming, 39 vehicles, and over 100 people !
The run started out with a bit of rain as we headed onto the hill through the forest, but by the time we were onto the hill road it started to clear. From the top, about 1400', the views were breathtaking.
We stopped for a while on the summit before decending down to the lunch area.
Here we set up a one section (8 gates) mini trial for those who needed to get a bit of off-roading out of the system, and work off lunch.
From here we decended down to the dams where we stopped and wondered at the hight and structure of this amazing construction.
We raised £460 for Macmillan Cancer Support. This is a charity that does amazing work, and as it was 3 years to the day since I lost my wee sister, I am grateful to everyone for making this donation posable.
Access to the hill road was by the kind permissions of Erchless and Fairburn Estates.
The day was a great sucess, but only because you were there, so many thanks to one and all. Hughie
