silicone? It's used to stick the tiles onto the space shuttle (apparently), so it might just do the trick!

What is the panel to be used for afterwards as that might effect what you use to bond it.

It just to put on the petrol tank guard as it is corroded and has a hole in it i just want a tempory patch to cover the guard for the mot till i get round to the scrappy.

cannot weld and getting one from another vehicle less hassle for me

Chemical metal then, resistant to petrol and will last ages. Get it at halfords autosave any of those places. but you have to work quick with it.

i saw that sticks like at screw fix. i got it sorted using a poly stuff smeared it over the tank guard then placed metal sheet down put the spare wheel on it for weight. Left it over night checked it today was well stuck (i hope) trimmed it too shape. made a metal strap then realised i had no bolts so of to diy shop, time i got back had me dinner it was late, just need to make another strap secure clean it up it and paint it then refit.
